What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a Active Ceramic Trades

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Plan, lay out, fixture, fabricate, process, assemble and/or modify a wide range of ceramic and metallic alloy products in an engineering, development, and/or complex production environment.

+ Provide support for development and prototyping activities.

+ As a condition of employment, Metal Trades positions are represented by the Metal Trades Council (MTC) and represented employees must pay the monthly membership dues or agency fee.

Qualifications We Require:

+ Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite 100% of the time.

+ Responsibility requirements include specialized knowledge in ceramic forming and fabrication, and adhesive bonding.

+ Work involves developing and performing processes for one-of-a kind product and an ability to follow work instructions for specialized Mark Quality (MQ) production when necessary.

+ Responsibilities include: blending, pressing, forming, and sintering ceramic materials; processing ceramic and metallic alloy products; measuring physical characteristics and fabricating necessary jigs, fixtures, molds, etc.; collaborating with engineers and serving as a consultant on materials processing parameters, design, and manufacturability issues; inspecting and electronic testing of components; providing information in developing cost estimates; and writing the necessary reports, develop process travelers and work instructions.

+ As required, lead specific projects, which include but is not limited to, responsibilities for making schedule commitments, assignment of work to coworkers, and instructing or training others. Utilize a computerized database to maintain required records.

+ Work is performed using industry-standard safety practices and personnel will write safety documents as required.

+ Utilize continuous improvement methodologies to mistake proof processes, deliver high quality product, reduce waste and improve processes while maintaining production delivery expectations.

Qualifications We Desire:

+ Typical experience shall include a minimum of 5-8 years as a fully qualified Materials Specialty Tradesperson.

+ Completion of a State approved Materials Specialty apprenticeship program, or attainment of an Associates’ degree with an emphasis in a relevant area, or having the equivalent on-the-job experience is desirable.

+ Outline of general scope of work--no attempt made to include all associated details or duties. Group Trades - Minimum of 5-8 years as a fully qualified Materials Processing Specialty Tradesperson or Completion of a State Approved Materials Processing Specialty Apprenticeship Program.

+ Previous experience in a high rigor, hands-on manufacturing environment.

+ Desire to work in a fast-paced, schedule driven environment.

+ Excellent interpersonal skills with a desire to work in a diverse team environment.

+ Willingness to collaborate with teammates to solve problems.

+ Active Department of Energy "L" or "Q" clearance.

Security Clearance:
