We are seeking a Electronic Fabrication Trades Apprentices

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Plan, layout, fabricate, modify, troubleshoot, repair, test, calibrate, and the inspection of a wide range of electronic and electro-mechanical fabricated hardware utilizing sound engineering principles in a research and development, and/or complex production/prototyping environment.
+ You will receive hands on training in soldering, complex cabling and harnessing, magnetics, electromechanical assemblies, rack system and tester fabrication learning and display a high level of proficiency in all areas..
+ As a condition of employment, Metal Trades positions are represented by the Metal Trades Council (MTC) and represented employees must pay the monthly membership dues or agency fee.


Educational and/or Experience Requirements for Acceptance into Electronic Fabrication Apprenticeship below:

+ Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Electronic Technology or Electronics Engineering Technology, or Advanced Systems Technology as provided by CNM or equivalent or Military Schooling in Electronic Technology, Electronics with an overall of cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater or equivalent work experience (minimum of 4 years)

Required skills, Physical Assessments & Certifications

Once the applicant has submitted their application and resume, there will be several levels of screening as applicable (1) resume review for direct experience and related work history, (2) skills assessments (3) interview evaluations, (4) pre-employment background reviews (for external applicant. (5) drug testing, and (6) physical job placement assessments. Each screening level must be passed successfully and consecutively in order to be edible for consideration.

+ A job placement assessment (JPA) will be required as part of the screening for this position. This JPA will evaluate your ability to meet the physical requirements of this job
+ Responsibilities include consulting with inquiries on circuity, package design, and performance requirements as follows:

- Designing, developing, and preparing electromechanical layouts and drawings using CAD software and other computer tools.
- The planning, scheduling and fabrication of special test equipment, wiring, harness and cables, cases and chassis, PCB's, magnetics, perform complete mechanical electrical and functional testing and analysis of completed units.
- Work involves utilizing all type of electronic test equipment to develop, set up, and perform qualification and evaluation tests on components and systems.
- Consult, team, and learn from mentors and other Tradespersons as well as Subject Matter Expert Trainers on assignments.
- Collaborate with engineers and serve as a fabrication resource on design for manufacturability issues.
- Utilize a computerized database to maintain required records and assignments.
- Perform work using industry-standard safety practices. Requirements include completion of a State approved Electronic Fabrication Trades Apprenticeship Program with the apprentice occupation as Electronic Engineering Technician.
- Obtain new and maintain current required electronic fabrication process and qualifications in order to meet current as well as future business needs.


+ Experience with AutoCAD,
+ Good understanding of technical drawings, blue prints and schematics
+ Knowledgeable of ISO Quality Systems Requirement
+ IPC Acceptability of electronic assemblies certifications
+ Experience working in Microsoft Windows environment
+ Hands on electronics fabrication of 3/5 years of experience, cabling, boards, chassis hardware fabrication and quality.
+ Active Department of Energy "L" or "Q" clearance.
