NDTM is seeking an electromechanical hardware engineer to define and document requirements, develop, manage, and deliver tester interface hardware solutions across a variety of testers platforms and interface types.

In this role you will be responsible for delivering the test interface capability for new NAND wafer and packaged devices by working with industry partners to provide hardware for our engineering labs. Hardware solutions include, but are not limited to, PCBs, probe cards, sockets, handler change kits, BHAST, BIBs, and test fixtures.

The ideal candidate will be self-driven with an exacting attention to detail and communication skills. Have both an understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering design concepts and experience with real-world implementations.

Candidate conducts or participates in multidisciplinary research in the design, development, testing and utilization of information processing hardware and/or electrical components, mechanisms, materials, and/or circuitry, processes, packaging, and cabinetry for central processing units (CPUs) and/or peripheral equipment. Prepares specifications, evaluates vendors, and analyzes test reports. Ensures products conform to standards and specifications. Develops plans and cost estimates and assesses projects to analyze risk. Develops procedures, analysis and design for computer components, products, and systems. Initiates, guides, and coordinates overall design and development of new ideas and products. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement.

This position is in the NAND-DTM Group which is aligned to phase 2 of the sale of the NAND business to Solidigm, a wholly owned subsidiary of SK hynix. Employees in this business group will work on developing NAND technology and components.  Phase 2 of the transaction is expected to close in March 2025 at which time employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition employment to Solidigm.  Solidigm, a leading global supplier of NAND flash memory solutions, is headquartered in San Jose, California with offices worldwide.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must have Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related major with 4+ years experience -OR- Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related major with 3+ years experience in the following:
  • PCB design experience including concept, part selection to meet application requirements, schematic capture, board layout, and fabrication and assembly.

  • Experience in use of electronic test and measurement equipment for hardware bring up, validation, and debug, and use of soldering/rework equipment. (e.g. Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, signal generators, and logic analyzers).

  • Interpreting/developing electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

  • Proficient with design management including schedule estimation, status reporting, process flows, and coordinating/managing efforts across engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Signal integrity and power integrity modeling and simulation.

  • Mechanical design and/or 3D printing (experience with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD).

  • Experience working with industry partners to provide hardware solutions.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
