Job Description

As a Hardware Lab Engineering Technician, you will work supporting Intel's Foundational Systems Technology Group, whose core charter is the design and development of BIOS and Firmware for Intel Client and Enterprise platforms.

Candidate would be responsible for technical functions in support of test and development engineering activities such as platform assembly, system deployment, PC upgrades, OS installations, local and remote network connectivity, debug and fault isolation, bug tracking, data collection, validation plan execution, and rework tracking submissions for current and next-generation client and enterprise systems. Use of debug peripherals, serial capture devices, remote desktop connectivity software, IP KVM, and online system reservation systems are also in use and will need support.

Rework Expertise is required. Ability to read schematics, surface mount & fine pitch resistor, as well as blue wire rework requests are common and will support client, enterprise and graphic projects.

Additional duties to include lab inventory management, safety and compliance audit prep, test equipment calibration tracking, and supporting general lab activities.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job.

Education Requirement

2 year AS/AA Degree OR 5+ years' work experience in a trade, semiconductor, or related industries.

Minimum Qualifications

3+ years' work experience in a trade, semiconductor, or related industries.

3+ years of experience with Client Hardware Support.

3+ years of experience with board, PCB rework requests.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with the following:

  • MSFT OS and Network Certificates.
  • CompTiA - Network, Security +.
  • Knowledge of Python to edit and execute python scripts needed to validate hardware.
  • Component Level Rework Expertise \ Certification nice to have - not required.
