The Health Technologies Team conceives and proves out exciting new technologies for Apple's future products and features. We are seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist intern to join our cross-functional team to help drive feasibility of health and wellness sensors, systems, and applications.
You will become part of a hands-on design and development engineering team that fosters engineering excellence and innovation. Join us to design and develop category-defining features that represent the groundbreaking edge of innovation in the emerging and dynamic consumer health field.
Key Qualifications
- Medical, health, wellness, and/or fitness sensors, systems, and applications.
- Health data processing, cleaning, and analysis.
- Python, SQL, and data visualization techniques (custom or e.g. Tableau).
Description
Key responsibilities include:
- This is a 6-12 month experience. The project focuses on sleep pattern ("phenotype") discovery using real-world sleep tracking data.
- Standard population statistical inference methods driven by clinical context provided by the team and published literature.
- Visualization techniques applied to longitudinal (time series) sleep patterns within-individuals tracked over time.
- Unsupervised clustering methods for data-driven sleep phenotyping.
Education & Experience
Currently pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. degree in Biostatistics, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related subject area.
