What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a High-Risk Embedded Security Professional to join our dynamic team.

The selected candidate will develop and implement security controls for Special Access Program (SAP), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and IC programs. This position can also serve as an Embedded Security Professional within a mission program and work closely with program personnel to support, develop and implement best security practices. This position will partner with other security professionals and will team with technical experts within the mission programs to proactively reduce the risk of safeguard and security events. The position will interpret information, provide oversight of security requirements, and will perform a full range of security functions for the mission program/project, such as identifying risks and recommending appropriate security measures. Such as, conducting vulnerability analyses for program protection efforts, including identifying critical program information and evaluating and implementing mitigation strategies resulting in technical countermeasures. This may include classified computer network security, secure data storage, Operations Security (OPSEC), and counterintelligence activities. Provides expertise and guidance to Sandia National Laboratories’ executive management, program management, and to multiple government entities. Individuals in this position may partner with Deployed Security Professionals/Coordinators to provide a holistic approach for managing and mitigating S&S risks across the facility, division/centers, and programs customers.

Qualifications We Require:

+ Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline plus a minimum of five years’ experience (or combined equivalent experience). Relevant disciplines may include security, criminology, cyber security, IT, etc.

+ The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q level security clearance, or equivalent, such as DoD TS and other special clearances, as applicable.

+ The ability to obtain and maintain a SCI clearance, which may require a polygraph test.

Qualifications We Desire:

Ideally, we would like to see your background include some of the following:

+ Master's degree in a relevant discipline

+ Experience with program/information security, Special Access Program security management, and/or SCI programs

+ Experience with SNL (CA), the FIE, or other government operations (IC, DoD, etc.)

+ Knowledge and understanding of ICD705; physical security construction standards

+ An active SCI level security clearance.

The CA SNL Field Intelligence Element (FIE) is the support organization and strategic partner enabling the SNL FIE Intelligence and Special Access Programs to solve the most challenging national security problems. The SNL FIE consists of Physical Security, Cyber Security, Program Security, Special Security Office and Information Technology for the NM, CA and MN sites. Intelligence Work (IW) for these areas funded through Program Infrastructure Recovery (PIR) and/or customer funding.

Security Clearance:

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance and SCI access, both of which require US citizenship. SCI access may also require a polygraph examination. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain these levels of access may be impacted.
