Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a Homologation Engineer. If you are looking for an opportunity to lead in the effort to ensure SEL products, processes, and facilities comply with applicable industry safety, environmental, and electromagnetic compatibility standards, then this position is for you!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain records of product compliance.
  • Develop and maintain a global compliance list and associated technical requirements.
  • Track changing regulatory requirements and their impacts.
  • Evaluate and research compliance requirements for new markets and technologies.
  • Establish homologation requirements for target markets.
  • Provide technical assistance as a content expert in product compliance.
  • Mentor management and engineering staff.
  • Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
  • Understand. Create. Simplify.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline, or equivalent experience

8+ years working knowledge in product compliance and homologation practices for industrial, medical, or commercial products

Knowledge of the following product homologation requirements:

  • Safety standards (NRTL, CSA, NOM, EAC, RCM, CE)
  • Product Ecology (RoHS, REACH, WEEE, Packaging)
  • Wireless (Wi-Fi, Cellular, 900 MHz, GNSS)


Strong writing, documentation, and public speaking skills

Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities

Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

Background check results satisfactory to SEL

Negative drug test result(s)

Preferred Qualifications

Leadership experience or training

Strong working knowledge of common compliance related test equipment, test chambers, and testing practices
