The
Super Compute Platform (SCP) group within Intel's Accelerated
Computing Systems and Graphics Group (AXG) defines and delivers HPC
products that are critical to customers in Cloud, Government,
Academia, and Industrial market segments. These products help end
users gain insight into and discover solutions to their most
important computing problems. AXG products enable a broad range of
breakthroughs: from cutting edge film making and animation, to
scientific discoveries, weather simulation, to success in
investment banking, to breakthroughs in manufacturing from small
businesses to the largest industries.
As an
HPC Software Engineer, working on system
performance modeling, you will be part of Super Compute Performance
and Power Modeling and Measurements team contributing to the
development of tools for future products targeted for exascale. The
end goal is the development of tools to enable accurate performance
projections in a minimum amount of time.
In this role, you will help develop the system model for Intel's next generation architectures. You will collaborate with various vertical application segment experts within Intel to properly capture the HPC workload behavior and represent it with a SW model. You will also work with various HW architects to accurately model HW features and their interactions. Our team also collaborates with multiple different modeling teams to define the proper interfaces between various system components. The work also spans determining the characteristics of key workloads and mapping them to capabilities of Intel products. Your efforts will enable us to drive future Intel technologies in the directions needed to ensure performance leadership as new HPC applications and technologies emerge.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Being part of fast-paced and tightly-coupled team building an End-to-End System projection framework
Capture workload characteristics at the cluster level for both CPUs and GPUs
Write C/C++ code and python scripts to define interfaces between tools and interactions between models
Develop capabilities to represent dependencies and/or dynamic application behaviors
Solve interesting problems like modeling parallel execution flows, repeating patterns of behaviors, and finding HW bottlenecks
Collaborate with multiple different modeling teams, SW experts, and HW architects
