The Accelerated Computing Systems and Graphics Group's High Performance Computing Systems Platform Validation Team is looking for someone to join us. Our solutions are being used today to solve some of the world's most challenging scientific problems such as bio-medical research (Covid), climate research, genome analysis, renewable energy - all which require the world's fastest supercomputers to tackle. Intel needs your help to deliver the next generation in HPC systems and technology.


We have a need for an HPC System Platform Validation Engineer with experience in post-Si validation, triage and/or debug work.  A large part of the responsibilities will be to own tests in PCIE, UPI, RAS, HBMEM, CPU or other areas, triage any failures, and report on root causes to management. You would have an opportunity to develop new tests content as gaps are identified. In addition,  you would be responsible to run tests in your area for bringing up new equipment.  Dispositioning any failures may include debug of various ingredients and interactions with our state-of-the art supercompute systems.  Beyond the team, you will interact with Si design teams, divisional customers, and others who use the regressions to make decisions. We will be working with new technologies for our latest project, and a large part of your opportunity will be to debug leading edge platform and Si issues. You will need to be self-directed, curious, and have a keen desire to learn.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  

  • Owning test plan and testing of area for system bring-ups, and developing tests to improve quality in these areas

  • Partner with Si components (CPU, GPU) for joint validation and debug strategy (including PCIE, UPI, RAS, HPM, etc.)

  • Participate in Power-Ons, Volume Validation and Triage/Debug Tiger Teams, and interacting with 3rd party and end customers

Minimum Education and Experience:


A Bachelors degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a directly field and 4+ years experience in one, or more, of the following areas: 

  • Pre-silicon or post-silicon or relevant validation experience

  • Coding in object oriented languages, such as C++

  • Linux knowledge and experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree and 3+ years experience, as outlined above

  • High Performance Computing (HPC) and/or cluster level debug

  • Ability to isolate system failures through applications and end-user code

  • Understanding of Intel architecture and micro-architecture

  • Hardware system debug tools, to include logic/network analyzers

  • Documentation of plans, coding, and storing artifacts in a source-controlled environment

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
