Responsibilities:
Under general direction, the HR Generalist II administers human resources policies and procedures in support of assigned locations or organizational units. Acts as the primary point of contact for employees and management for all Human Resources issues, including but not limited to, employee relations, on-boarding, leaves of absence, and staffing.

•Effectively communicates human resources and company programs, policies, practices, and procedures to employees and management at all levels for assigned locations or organizational units. Provides guidance and direction to managers on performance management, including disciplinary actions, promotions, and employee development.
•Responds to employee relations issues and complaints; investigates, documents and makes recommendations for resolutions.
•Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement. Responds to unemployment claims and represents the company at hearings.
•Processes employee transactions and maintains employee records in HR systems.
•May interview, screen and recruit candidates to fill entry-level, professional and technical job openings.
•May conduct new-hire orientations and employee onboarding procedures.
•Assists with a variety of HR projects and initiatives. Provides backup and support to all members of the HR team. 
•Adheres to all company, departmental and client policies, procedures and requirements. Maintains clearances and licenses as required for position based upon assignment. 
•Completes assigned training on time and with acceptable scores. Demonstrates understanding of training materials and applies knowledge in appropriate situations.
 
Required Skills and Knowledge:
•Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with all levels of employees and management. 
•Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle access to sensitive information.
•Proven, in-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
•Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
•Ability to independently prioritize workflow and effectively manage time and resources.
•Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
 

Physical Requirements:
•Performs duties in a busy standard office environment with moderate noise level
•Sits or stands at a desk during scheduled shift, reaching as needed to use office equipment.
•Makes and returns calls using an office phone system; 
•Views a computer monitor, types on a keyboard and uses a mouse. 
•Reads and comprehends information in electronic (computer) or paper form (written/printed). 
•Types frequently, but not constantly, using a keyboard and mouse. 
•Occasionally lifts/carries/pushes/pulls up to 10 lbs.
•Travel - Generally less than 10%: May require occasional overnight travel to out-of-state company locations.

Education and Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and job-related experience is required.
•PHR or similar certification is preferred.
Generally requires 5 years or more increasingly responsible experience as an HR Generalist or similar role. 
•Prior experience with Service Contract Act (SCA) is preferred.
Remote work is not available for this position.
