We are seeking a Human Factors Engineer to work within a multi-discipline team in the factory construction environment, to imagine and define computing and service experiences, based on a foundational understanding of people, facilities, and technology. This individual should bring a mix of skills, including User Centered Design, Service Design, and Software Development.

As a Human Factors Engineer your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers, program managers, and software developers to identify, explore and communicate research-backed, experience-driven use cases for our products and facilities.
  • Uncover new out-of-the-box explorative possibilities, concepts, and value propositions for the business across both physical and digital touchpoints.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to identify areas where the delivery of critical information can be improved with efficiency and accuracy through expert knowledge and research insights.
  • Understand the abilities and limitations of various technology stacks, create implementable solutions for each situation.
  • Plan and/or lead workshops to share insights, foster understanding, and generate ideas.
  • Develop research insights, and use future thinking to spark imaginations, inspire ideas and shepherd innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Communicate desired experiences through a variety of methods, which may include user journeys, user scenarios, user flows, storyboards, small videos, mockups, or simple prototypes.
  • Create coded interface prototypes using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Design and conduct usability testing with the people who use our products to iteratively learn and improve solutions.
  • Partner with architects, engineers, and researchers to develop and prioritize experience roadmaps.
  • Progress use cases to solutions through detailed design collateral, iterative conversation, and expert analysis.
  • Identify research questions and gaps in understanding and working to create and iterate solutions.
  • Build relationships to champion user experiences that are cohesive inclusive and well-informed.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Position not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must have at least one of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of experience in User Experience Design; Interaction Design, Service Design, HCI, Psychology or similar design field.

  • Master's degree with 4+years of experience in User Experience Design; Interaction Design, Service Design, HCI, Psychology or similar design field.

  • 10+ years of experience in User Experience Design; Interaction Design, Service Design, HCI, Psychology or similar design field will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Front end prototyping using HTML/CSS/JS.
  • Protecting Human Research Participants Certification.
  • Nielsen Norman UX Certification.
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence platforms like PowerBi.
  • 5+ years of experience developing software applications.
  • 5+ years of proven success in user experience design in a complex technology ecosystem.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
