Job Description

The Electronic Systems Laboratory (ELSYS) Systems Engineering Research Division (SERD) seeks Graduate Research Assistants for the Human Systems Engineering Branch (HSEB). HSEB is predominantly focused on the research, development and application of human systems engineering tools and methods to the design, development, and evaluation of complex systems. This research includes the following activities:
Conducting research on human performance
Performing analyses of human behavior in engineered systems
Designing and testing hardware and software user interfaces
Developing conceptual and computational models of human behavior and human performance
Identifying criteria related to personnel, manpower, and training issues associated with complex systems

Required Minimum Qualifications

Graduate Research Assistant

  • Pursuing a Masters degree or PhD at Georgia Tech  in Human Factors related domain (e.g., Engineering, Psychology, Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, etc.)
  • Must be enrolled full-time (12+ credit hours)
  • Must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
  • Must commit to 20 hours of work per week

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with the user-centered design process
Experience conducting cognitive task analyses and/or functional analyses
Experience wireframing / designing graphical user interfaces
Experience developing and conducting usability / evaluation events

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Ability to obtain Secret Clearance upon hire
