Group:
As an integral part of Intel's new IDM2.0 strategy,
we are establishing Intel Foundry Services (IFS), a fully vertical,
standalone foundry business, reporting directly to the CEO. IFS
will be a world-class foundry business and a major provider of the
US and European-based capacity to serve customers globally. Intel
Foundry Services will be differentiated from other Foundry
offerings with a combination of leading-edge packaging and process
technology, committed capacity in the US and Europe - available for
customers globally - and a world-class IP portfolio that customers
can choose from including x86 cores, graphics, media, display, AI,
interconnect, fabric and other critical foundational IP, along with
ARM and RISC-V ecosystem IPs. IFS will also provide access to
silicon design services to help our customers seamlessly turn
silicon into solutions, using industry-standard design
packages.
About the Role:
The Foundry Research and Development Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Develop Coventor process emulation flows for foundry technology processes, validate process/device models against Si, and benchmark device and parasitic performance.
- Partner with internal stake holders to correlate non-idealities and layout dependent effects to systematic variation.
- Develop metrics to score project complexity and risk to ensure a balance between execution and risk to deliver differentiated value with a first-time-right mindset.
- Lead test structure creation to validate performance and respond to results to deliver targeted performance to customers
- Incorporate industry-standard tooling to successfully navigate trade-offs between power, performance, area, and cost at the system and chipset level.

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be
initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications
are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a
plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must possess
at least one of the 3 following degrees, plus the years of
experience determined for each degree in the areas of expertise
specified below:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with 9+ years of experience.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with 7+ years of experience.
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of experience.
With a
combination of experience in any of the following
areas:
- Industry-standard Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tooling for use in product development (spanning TCAD Process/Device simulation, device compact model extraction, parasitic RC extraction, 3D packaging, RTL to GDS).
- Process technology development and optimization of technology definition using Design-Technology Co-optimization (DTCO) methodology.
- Device physics and interconnect technology characterization.
- Logic/memory process technologies and 3D packaging technologies, such as FinFET, GAA, CFET, eDRAM
