As a Supply Chain Research Engineer on a two-year assignment to Interuniversity Microelectronics Centre (IMEC) in Leuven, Belgium, you will be at the forefront of process/integration development at IMEC. The engineer will coordinate and drive Research and Development (R&D)/proof-of-concept activities at IMEC and its enabling supply chain ecosystem in equipment and materials. The role requires extensive interaction with Intels Technology Development (TD) organization including Components Research and Logic/Assembly Test Technology Development. The engineers role will involve collecting and transferring IMECs latest process/integration results to internal teams, translating external research to design of experiments with key stakeholders, and executing experiments at IMECs R&D Fab to advance Intels process and packaging technologies.
After the 2-year
assignment, the successful candidate will join Intels Global
Equipment and Materials supply chain organization. Intel provides
cost and logistics associated to the two-way international
assignment.
As the Supply Chain Research Engineer on an assignment to IMEC, Belgium, you will work in a demanding environment to complete multiple priority tasks in a timely manner, closely working with TD stakeholders onsite in Belgium and Intel teams located in the North American region (AMR). Exhibits intellectual curiosity to learn, including the IMECs/industrys Complimentary Metal Oxide Silicon (CMOS) scaling roadmap and related equipment/materials enablers. Must demonstrates can do attitude in a rapidly changing and ambiguous R&D environment. Works with IMEC process, module, integration engineers/managers and TD stakeholders to contribute and execute proof of concept experiments in the IMEC Fab. Persistent to achieve the end goal using diverse approaches in finding a path to solution while striving to uncover industry standards and cutting-edge technologies in all aspects of semiconductor device and its fabrication methods. Exhibits data-driven mindset focused on execution, velocity, and results. Cherishes networking opportunities and in-person interactions to improve job efficacy.
Explores and benchmarks emerging technology in the industry. Contributes in future technology definition and requirements. Defines the technical requirements for supplier selection. Works together with consortium/supplier to define the raw materials and overall materials manufacturing process flow to meet quality, reliability, cost, yield and manufacturability requirements. Develops plans and strategies to validate critical process window at consortium/supplier. Drives consortium/supplier process window validation activities on critical process modules throughout stages of development. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, statistical knowledge and problem solving tools. Develops strategy to resolve wide range of difficult and complex problems. Establishes master Gantt, performs regular review on the project progress.
The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:
Willingness to coordinate multiple programs simultaneously and translate external research into identifying new supplier development programs leading to program management and implementation within Intel for research needs
Demonstrated analytical/problem solving, stakeholder management, and program/project management with results orientation skills are required
Demonstrated strong teamwork across multiple teams and willingness to protect Intellectual Property (IP)
Holds advanced communication skills and demonstrated willingness to interact with and influence senior Intel and/or supplier management.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. This position is not available for immigration sponsorship.
Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must possess at least one of the following degrees plus the years of experience determined for each degree in the areas specified below:
Ph.D. in engineering or science discipline.
2+ years of industry fab/work experience in process, module, integration is a must.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of industry fab/work experience in process, module, integration
Business understanding, particularly related to semi equipment industry, is a significant plus.
