Seeking an Information Assurance engineer to support the Western Range Modernization Network (WMN) program. The selected candidate will work closely with the Chief Engineer, the systems engineering (SE) team, and each integrated product team (IPT) to ensure that IA is “built in” from the start. The individual will ensure that design and implementation meet all security/IA requirements, will maintain site Systems Security Plans, and help the Government develop or update plans for modernization of the Western Range (WR) Communications Subsystem (CMSS) network. Use the Risk Management Framework (RMF) to categorize new systems and identify needed security controls for each component of the updated CMSS network. Work with the accreditation authority to obtain Interim Authority to Test (IATT), and ensure successful Assessment and Authorization (A&A) of the updated CMSS network Authority To Operate (ATO). Determine program/product information assurance and security standards.

Responsibilities will include:
• Develop and implement information assurance/security standards and procedures
• Coordinate, develop, and evaluate program/product IA and security standards
• Recommend IA/security solutions to support customers’ requirements
• Identify, report, and resolve security violations
• Establish and satisfy IA and security requirements based upon analysis of user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands
• Support customer’s development and implementation of doctrine and policies
• Apply IA subject matter expertise to government and commercial common user systems, and dedicated special purpose systems requiring special security features/procedures
• Perform, analyze, design, and development of system architectures security features
• Analyze and define security requirements for info systems and network infrastructure
• Design, develop, engineer, and implement solutions that meet security requirements
• Provide integration and implementation of info system security solution
• Analyze general IA related technical problems and provide problem solving support
• Perform vulnerability/risk analyses of info systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle
• Ensure all info systems are functional and secure
• Participate in Risk Management Boards (RMB) and identify IA/cyber risks
• Support Program Manager in estimating, reporting, and planning IA/cyber tasks
• Adhere to established policies and procedures pertaining to job site safety, security, and time-keeping

Basic Qualifications
• DoD 8570 certification IAM II/IAT II
• Experience with system C&A or A&A
• Experience with DIACAP and/or NIST Risk Management Framework
• Experience performing vulnerability assessments and addressing vulnerabilities
• Experience working with system architects, developers and systems engineering to ensure security considerations are part of system design
• Demonstrated ability to quickly establish proficiency on new IT products/product lines
• Must have a current Secret clearance

Desired skills
• Experience on a DoD system development program (Western Range experience a plus)
• Experience with accreditation and certification of a Government/DoD system
• Recognized certification in network technology (i.e. Network+, CCNA, etc.)
• Experience working with systems engineering and CAD or graphics artists to document the DoDAF security view
• Experience interfacing with a project Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
• Experience with common IA/security tools like ACAS, HBSS, Firewalls, Log Managers, etc
• Experience with relevant industry software products like MS Office, MS Project, MS Sharepoint, etc
