We have an opening for an Information Technology (IT) Operations Manager to lead activities in support of our national security mission. The Accident Response Group (ARG) ensures readiness, mobilization, deployment, and operation for incidents or accidents involving the United States nuclear weapons, joint test assemblies (JTAs), or radiological or hazardous nuclear weapon components. You will be responsible for developing technical and process improvements to support exercises, training courses, and communications systems with ARG. This position is funded at 50% time; the successful candidate will be required to secure the remaining 50% funding in the form of another assignment, ideally in support of Global Security missions. This position is in the Computing Directorate supporting the Global Security Directorates Assessments and Consequence Management Program.

Essential Duties
- Provide leadership and advanced technical support for workstations, physical servers, virtual servers, printers, and video teleconferencing systems on multiple classified computer networks.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for accessing the Emergency Communications Network (ECN) and the Single Hosted Infrastructure for the Radiological Enterprise (SHIRE).
- Lead Home Team operations by serving as custodian for a vault-type room, leading home team communications, and developing a database of Home Team subject matter experts.
- Advance ARG operations by providing input for new Conduct of Operations guides, contributing to working groups, providing new content to training courses, and leading recruitment activities.
- Assist with the planning and execution of Nuclear Accident Training Exercises (e.g., NUWAIX, DOGEAR).
- Represent the ARG program in meetings at various national laboratory locations and serve in a deputy capacity for the ARG Deputy Program Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, business, information systems, or related field or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
- Broad and in-depth knowledge of computer operating systems, encryption standards, and network topology
- Experience and knowledge of cyber security protocols to manage user accounts, address compliance issues, and monitor access.
- Technical expertise in system administration, computer networking, infrastructure architecture, cyber security, and/or another IT field.
- Experience setting priorities and solving complex problems in a fast-paced, customer-focused team environment.
- Experience leading cyber, IT, or nuclear response teams and projects.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills necessary to collaborate in a team environment and document, present and explain technical information.

Pre-Employment Drug Test: External applicant(s) selected for this position will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test. This includes testing for use of marijuana as Federal Law applies to us as a Federal Contractor.

Security Clearance: This position requires an active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or active Top Secret clearance issued by another U.S. government agency at time of hire.

Note: This is a Career Indefinite position. Lab employees and external candidates may be considered for this position.
