Intern - Product Delivery Value Streams - Business Undergraduate - Year-Round

Albuquerque, New Mexico

We are seeking a Year Round - Business Undergraduate Intern to join our dynamic team!

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Lead apprenticeship program orientations for new hires within SNL MTC apprenticeship program.
+ Work with Labor Relations, management, and apprentices as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the MTC apprenticeship program
+ Work with external regulators (NM Department of Workforce Solutions & Department of Veteran Affairs) to gather requirements and ensure SNL adherence to policy
+ Work with external regulators to update program requirements by business need
+ Act as a facilitator for SNL Trades Focused Sub-committees and the Joint Apprenticeship Council
+ Cross-train in production planning which will use Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools and techniques to ensure the availability of materials and jobs on the production floor

+ Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program
+ Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
+ Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
+ U.S. citizenship

+ Experience in customer service
+ Degree focus in Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, Policies and Planning, Strategic Management, or Operations Management
+ Basic understanding of manufacturing resource planning concepts and tools
+ Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work in a diverse team environment and collaborate with others to solve problems
+ Desire to work in a fast-paced/schedule driven environment with an ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
+ Basic knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement and their application
+ Demonstrated leadership and/or project management skills
+ Experience working with unions or contracts

Department Description:

Department 2562 safely manufactures neutron generators for War Reserve weapons systems and the development of new processes and generator designs. Our responsibilities include manufacturing planning, configuration control, and the establishment and maintenance of schedules to assure that the Nuclear Weapons Complex need for neutron generators is met.
