International Security Specialist (Experienced)

Are you passionate about your work and dream of utilizing state-of-the-art facilities to explore solutions? Are you team oriented, enthusiastic and highly motivated? You could be the Administrative Support we are seeking to join our International Security & Risk Management team.

The International Security Team consists of one Program Administrator, four International Security Specialists, one year-round Intern and three Corporate Regional Security Officers. The team is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the program to ensure it meets DOE requirements, while enabling members of the workforce to travel internationally.

This is a non-exempt (hourly) position.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Facilitate the trip approval process.
+ Completed significant data-entry, tracking, generating reports, securing approvals, etc.

Required:

+ High School Diploma plus five (5) or more years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE L-level security clearance.

Desired:

+ Active L clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a Q clearance.
+ Experience with the following:

- The International Security processes necessary to facilitate international travel for SNL travelers.
- Working with all levels of DOE/NNSA and SNL members of the workforce.
- Utilizing DOE/NNSA and SNL databases related to security.
- With DOE/NNSA or DOD Security and working with DOE/NNSA or DOD directives.

Department Description:

The International Security and Risk Management Department mitigates security risks through three security functions. International Security Operations supports international travelers before and during travel with a variety of risk mitigating activities and capabilities. Operations Security (OPSEC) helps identify critical information, threats, and risks in order to deploy countermeasures, and Security Awareness ensures MOW are aware of their security responsibilities as they relate to the protection of controlled and classified matter.

Security Clearance:

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
