The iOS RestoreQA team is looking for a motivated, highly technical QA Engineer. We're passionate about software quality and the customer experience, and we are looking for critical thinkers who would like to play a key role at Apple
Apple's Platform Restore and over-the-air Software Update validation team is responsible to ensure high-quality releases are delivered to our customers. We work hand in hand with our development engineers who support tethered and wireless updates for iOS, watchOS, macOS, and tvOS. We work on all Apple products and help develop and maintain our test plans, automation, test tools, and infrastructure. In this role, test efforts will target development engineering support and partnering with engineering teams to ensure product quality

Key Qualifications

  • Experience performing ad-hoc testing on Unix based systems
  • Strong understanding of SQA methodologies & practices
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Unix, Shell, Python)
  • Ability to investigate and debug difficult problems and independently work towards results
  • Thorough knowledge of iOS and macOS systems
  • Comfortable in a dynamic and informal environment
  • Detail mindset and a good communicator
  • Creative thinker and strong problem solver with meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed to facilitate close interaction with development teams, management, and other organizations within Apple
  • Ability to support rotational weekend coverage


The iOS Quality team develops and maintains new and existing Restore QA test plans. We focus on driving and reporting on features and project statuses for all aspects of the software update experience for Apple. You will expand test development for iOS and the underlying frameworks. You will help drive the innovation in iOS test development and work closely with engineering teams to identify and act on the opportunities for Manual, Automation and test tools. You will need strong debugging capabilities of high-level software and core embedded technologies. You will complete both documented and ad-hoc testing to ensure high-quality releases. You will also need strong multitasking skills and be successful in working with multi-functional teams to achieve the desired results

Education & Experience

BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
