The System Intelligence and Machine Learning (SIML) group is responsible for crafting machine learning solutions to extract high level structure information from images, videos and text shipping on all Apple platforms (macOS, iOS, tvOS, watchOS). Examples include face recognition, scene classification, OCR, handwriting recognition as well as the support for internal tools. The group combines research and development in a dynamic and engaging environment.
Our data team is responsible for designing and building high quality datasets at scale. At the heart of machine learning, data defines how Apple features and products operate and what is the final user experience that will impact millions of our customers. Key Qualifications
- 2+ years of management experience
- 2+ years of experience in data operations (annotation and/or collection) and/or in quality assurance
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Experience in root cause analysis
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools will be a plus
- Great communication, collaboration and planning skills
- Excellent problem-solving and project management skills
Description
Your mission will be to grow and manage a team dedicated to ensuring high quality of datasets used to train machine learning models. You will be supporting data collection and data annotation teams with their growing number of projects.
You will also need to identify and drive internal initiatives that enable your team to scale efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing team of contractors and full time employees
Managing interview processes, and extensions for contractors
Establishing processes (internal and external) to handle growing QA needs for assets and annotations
Prototyping efficient annotation workflows
Leading small annotation projects
Presenting reports about discovered problems and statistics
Training new team members
Handling team resources (budget, hardware)
Education & Experience
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience preferred
