The team is looking for Lead Software Developer who will provide hands-on Cloud Native application development and technical software engineering design and architecture guidance to build and deploy operational Air Operations Center (AOC) applications.  You will lead an 8-10 person team building and deploying micro-service based web native applications using agile techniques.

Conduct hands-on pair-programming/XP coding of multi-tier AOC web applications using JAVA, JavaScript, HTML 5.0, Spring and Kotlin.

Provide technical software architecture and design guidance and leadership to design secure microservice based web native applications.

Develop and deploy applications using continuous integration and continuous deployment (DEVOPS) tools and processes

Provide mentoring and continuity in the areas of human machine interface design/implementation, Data Technologies, integration/services and security.

Works with Lead Software Architect/CTO and other Software Leads to evolve best coding practices, design patterns, conduct design reviews, assess/adopt technology and establish a Technical Microservices Architecture.

*Must be able to work in Downtown Boston, MA 95%.
Education: MS Computer Science, Computer Engineering or commensurate commercial experience with a technical BS/MS degree

At least 5 years commercial multi-tier web application or enterprise integration focused software development of which a minimum of 2 years was in an agile environment

Lead development teams of 4 or more with excellent communications and customer skills

Prior experience developing and/or architecting cloud-hosted, responsive, single page web applications using JavaScript, Java, HTML5, CSS3

High proficiency with client side JavaScript frameworks (preferably React/Redux), server side frameworks (preferably Spring & NodeJS) and both SQL & NoSQL databases (preferably MongoDB)

Experience with Containerized Cloud implementations and technology (Docker, Kubernetes, Bosch, etc)

Familiarity with event-based service architectures and integration with APIs exposing microservices (e.g., REST, SOAP)

Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Lean Startup, XP) and cross-functional teams (Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers, Designers, Business Analysts)

Familiar with Design Thinking, Behavior and Test-Driven Development

Comfortable with automated IDE and build tool (packaging) environments (git, gihub, inteliJ, Eclipse, Maven/Gradel/Ant)

Experience with DEVOPS principles and continuous integration and deployment pipeline technologies (e.g., Jenkins, Concourse, Ansible)
