Join MITREs Cyber Assessment department as a Cyber Assessor for Counter Intel and be a part of a stable and interesting work program with long-term opportunities for growth and development. The right candidate will work in a fast-paced team environment alongside Sponsor personnel to further cyber assessment goals. As a Cyber Assessor, you will bring subject matter expertise to some of the Missile Defense Agencys (MDAs) toughest Counter Intel/Forensics challenges. The candidate is required to have had formal CI training and cyber assessment experience.
Key Functions:
  • Assessor who conducts assessments of digital media, memory, malware, packet capture and logs
  • This person should have the skills to conduct the analysis when needed, but will primarily be focused on solving new problems
  • Engage with Community of Interest on current threats and countermeasures
  • Analyze a variety of information and intelligence relevant to the threats facing select U.S. government systems, sensitive information, and processes critical to the nation and describe impact to USG systems
  • Conduct strategic risk assessments and identify processes and methods to protect government interests from CI threats
  • Provide additional analysis in response to specific threats and incident reports, as needed
  • Opportunities may be available for additional responsibilities, including task leadership
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or similar field and 8 years of experience
  • Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Required Qualifications:
  • Hands on assessment experience including:
    • Forensic examination experience
  • Software development experience (Python/ Perl, Ruby, or C#)
  • Technical leadership experience
  • The ability to interface and build consensus with Law Enforcement (LE) and CI personnel
  • Applicable BS degree (preference: computer science/ engineering)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI level security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using: NESSUS, FTK or Encase, rekall or Volatility, Redline or GRR, log file analysis, incident response hunting
  • Cyber forensics experience
