Job Overview

The Advanced Data Solutions (ADS) team builds big data and analytics solutions to uncover business insights, transforming DTNA into the intelligent company of tomorrow. With access to massive amounts of vehicle and automation telematics data, we develop data science solutions to improve our products, streamline manufacturing, and perfect our customers' experience.

In this exciting and challenging role as Lead Data Scientist, you will drive the development of innovative new products using advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence. You will leverage multiple enterprise data platforms, high volume IoT data, and associated tools for process automation, ELT/ETL, job management and code deployment. You are a highly motivated candidate who is willing to quickly learn and understand new technologies and tools. You will support, maintain and deliver solutions, and scale the system to handle billions of events in near real-time.

Responsibilities

  • Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
  • Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
  • Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
  • Use predictive modeling and machine learning to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes
  • Present information using data visualization techniques
  • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions
  • Coordinate with different functional teams e.g. product development and/or engineering to implement models and monitor outcomes
  • Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies
  • Extending company’s data with third party sources of information when needed
  • Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
  • Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
  • Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner
  • Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques
  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy
  • Actively work with internal and external customers to analyze business data needs, gather and document business and data architecture requirements
  • Collaborate with IT architecture team and project architects to provide solutions
  • Collaborate with IT Security team and cloud data compliance
  • Develop, implement and maintain data pipelines with IoT data (Telematics, Factory Robotics)
  • Perform data profiling, validation and acceptance testing for cloud integration
  • Ensure highest levels of data accessibility, security, and quality at all stages
  • Provide tier 1/2 technical support
  • Develop data pipelines with Azure Data factory, Databricks, Spark or related technologies
  • Develop rapid prototype proof of concept solutions for viability studies
  • Work within an Agile team and a dynamic, fast-moving, collaborative environment
  • Communicate status to all stakeholders
  • Keep current on latest Big Data technologies and products, including hands on evaluations and in-depth research
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university and 6+ years of related experience OR Master's Degree with 4+ years of related experience required
  • A degree focus in a technical or design field (Computer Science, Software Design, Full Stack Development or Electrical Engineering) is required

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with numerous machine learning/deep learning models such as neural networks, LSTM, autoencoder, anomaly detection
  • Experience with Natural language processing
  • Experience with methods of business validation of ML models required
  • Experience with statistical modeling and methods
  • Experience developing data pipelines for model training and validation
  • Experience deploying and managing large cloud compute workloads for optimal speed and cost efficiency
  • Experience on major cloud analytics platforms AWS, Google or Azure (Azure preferred)
  • Experience deploying machine learning solutions through to DevOps stage in a large, enterprise environment
  • Azure ADLS or AWS S3
  • Python
  • GitHub or similar collaborative dev hub

Preferred Qualifications

  • PySpark or PyTorch
  • Databricks or Jupyter
  • Experience in the manufacturing domain, especially product quality
  • Experience in automotive, especially aftermarket service and support
  • Experience with telematics IoT
  • Experience with Spark and related technologies
  • Experience with team leadership—managing work across a small team of data scientists, analysts, engineers
