Lead Netcool/Watson AIOps Administrator

Role and Responsibilities

Reporting into the Director of Monitoring Engineering department, this position is for an IT Monitoring SME (Netcool & Watson AIOps) with minimum 7 years of experience implementing, configuring and supporting monitoring solution. Strong technical skills required.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Be responsible for the maintenance and configuration of the Enterprise level IT monitoring system, IBM's ITM Netcool Suite of products including NOI, ITNM, TIP, DASH, ITNM.
  • Be involved in the design and implementation of IBM Enterprise Monitoring solutions
  • Duties include setting up administrator and service accounts, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve moderate to complex system/application issues.
  • Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
  • Watson AIOps, Tivoli Netcool (Event Management), Linux/RedHat system admin, scripting (shell scripting, PERL, Python, Rules files, regular expressions, JavaScript and/or Impact policy language
  • RBA experience with Watson AIOPS
  • Third party event management tools integration (events and topology) with Watson AIOps
  • Good knowledge in Java / IPL Scripts and should able to create / modify the scripts in Impact
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

Knowledge of event management, database structures and SQL, network management principles, network protocols including TCP/IP, SNMP, operating system utilities (ftp, telnet, sftp, ssh, text editors), ITNM , Knowledge of Kubernetes , OpenShift platform and AWS is a plus


Required Education

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science.  Masters is a plus.
