Salary Range:

$86,300 - $166,800 *Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate¿s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

What Your Job Will Be Like:





We are seeking a Lean Process Engineer to join our dynamic team!



On any given day, you may be called on to:





+ Apply technical, engineering, science and/ or business expertise to define, understand, and resolve complex problems at the system (multiple inter-related component) level



+ Look for ways to continually enhance system performance by selecting methods and techniques to improve the work, demonstrate lean six sigma, lean product development, and learn organization methods and principles



+ Define the problem, ideal state, target state with detail data and models



+ Create prototypes that identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses



+ Build strong agreement with teams involved in the improvement process on both the what and how to improve



+ Identify and resolve risks and hurdles that prevent closure to an improved process



+ Demonstrate technical knowledge and/or process improvement methods to deeply understand issues so that you can actively facilitate resolution, while not creating unintended consequences in the larger system



+ Teach and coach others to identify problems in a structured and standard way, including building strong problem statements, develop experiments to solve the problem, and implement solutions for sustainability that consider the end-to-end system



+ Build collateral (white papers, formal classes, experiential workshops, presentations for senior leaders, etc.) to ensure that methods and approaches used can be transferred to others, including those new to the workforce, or those looking for alternate ways to approach the work to get better results



+ Work closely with Department Quality Assurance, Safety, Security, and others to identify risks and opportunities.



+ Teach Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Courses.



+ Support Center Strategic Planning effort.



+ Lead Causal Analysis events.





Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.





Qualifications We Require:





+ A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, Mechanical Engineering, etc.), Business, or a relevant field, plus 5 years related experience; or equivalent combination of experience and education



+ Certified Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma



+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance





Qualifications We Desire:





+ A Master’s degree in a STEM field (Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, Mechanical Engineering, etc.) or Business



+ Strong Facilitation skills.



+ Experience mentoring Green Belts to Certification.



+ Experience using statistical software for data analysis.



+ Experience facilitating events involving Senior Leadership.



+ Casual Analysis experience



+ A DOE Q clearance to start.



+ Plus, 3 years or more experience supporting R&D and/or production activity level work



+ Experience operating in a classified environment



+ Experience teaching Lean Six Sigma Courses
