The Logic
Technology Development (LTD) Process Development Engineer's role
encompasses ownership of both equipment and process techniques,
with the goal of developing the next generation process technology
and making it production-worthy at high volume. This position will
be in one of the Front End Thin Films Deposition (physical vapor
deposition, chemical vapor deposition, atomic layer deposition or
electroplating) or Epitaxial Growth modules.
Job responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
- Establish and build upon existing partnerships with external vendors and internal organizations to develop or enhance semiconductor process tools to meet or exceed key process targets
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments to produce films which meet or exceed key performance indicators
- Operate and support the manufacturing line by establishing safe operating procedures, monitoring equipment performance, and providing after hours on-call escalation
- Investigate new and innovative ways to improve module efficiency and effectiveness by leveraging automation tools and scripts
- Demonstrate process capability (recipe stability, equipment uptime, etc) at high volume
- Transfer the complete manufacturing process (recipes, tool configuration, procedures, etc) to counterparts in high-volume factories around the world
- Install and qualify process tools
- Audit installation and qualification of production tools at high-volume factories and supervise first full loop at the site
Candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits/skills:
- Demonstrated technical problem-solving skills in which complex problems are rapidly analyzed and a solution path identified
- Ability to be self-directed and show initiative when tasks are ambiguous
- Effective communication skills and ability to succinctly summarize complex data sets for technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to successfully work on teams composed of individuals with differing levels of knowledge and expertise, working toward a common goal or outcome
This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field of study. Must obtain degree by October 2022.
- Minimum of 1 year of
combined experience in one or more of the
following:
Semiconductor materials and characterization,
Sustaining duties including equipment ownership and delivering a robust manufacturable module,
Hands on experience using and maintaining scientific equipment,
Semiconductor processing experience,
Statistical Process Control (SPC) or Design of Experiments (DOE) principles and engineering analysis tools,
Analytical techniques - Successful candidates will be able to commence employment within twelve months of application.
Preferred
Qualifications:
- One year of semiconductor process experience
- Experience operating/maintaining physical vapor deposition, chemical vapor deposition, atomic layer deposition, electroplating or epitaxial growth equipment

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
