This position is in the Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) team under the Logic Technology Development group, which is comprised of modules focused on leading-edge CMP applications, including dielectrics, semimetals, metals, and novel films deposited on complex material stacks to enable device fabrication on new and advanced Intel process technologies.

Job responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

Logic Technology Development (LTD) Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) Engineers develop advanced planarization process technologies that enable the manufacture of state-of-the-art computing devices using leading-edge silicon process technologies. In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Developing materials and equipment in collaboration with external vendors and Global Supply Chain (GSC) to enhance functionality and improve the process.
  • Driving selection/evaluation of first-of-kind (FOK) tool platform, developing performance specs, defining training/PM and qual plan, in partnership with equipment team.
  • Defining module target spec, developing, and delivering model of record-compliant and high-volume manufacturing (HVM) ready process to meet quality, reliability, cost, yield, and productivity targets and deliver successful process technology.
  • Driving development and implementation of innovative processes for unique integrated process flows involving novel materials to meet program requirements, goals and timelines.
  • Exploiting statistics and big data analysis techniques to collect, extract insights from fab data, and employ machine learning to make continuous improvements in the process while ensuring process technology meets specified design requirements.
  • Supporting the development of a vibrant, diverse, and inclusive cultural environment where employees can bring their whole selves to contribute and grow to their maximum potential.
  • Working in the CMP module with the ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams and demonstrated expertise in delivering advanced and innovative solutions to challenging technical problems.


Qualifications

You must possess the minimum qualifications below to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must possess a bachelors degree in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related scientific STEM field and
  • 8+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry in process development and
    • Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP)
    • Semiconductor processing equipment and materials.
    • Optimizing semiconductor chemistries and process tools.
    • Semiconductor materials and characterization and statistical process control (SPC), or Design of Experiments (DOE) principles.
    • Engineering analysis tools and analytical techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience leading and driving projects involving materials and equipment from early development through successful implementation.
  •  Working in roles that require both daily tactical consistency as well as long-term strategy definition and roadmap execution.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
