The LTD ebeam inspection group is looking for an experienced engineer to join the group as a PTD Yield Engineering, owning some/all aspects of: introduction of new toolsets to Intel's logic manufacturing environment, application of ebeam inspection techniques to Intel advanced logic nodes, and in depth work within the logic development organization optimizing ebeam inspection techniques and applications.

PTD Yield Engineers are responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Leading scientific research enabling manufacture of innovative device architectures coupled with the realization of these architectures.

  • Designing executing and analyzing experiments necessary to meet engineering specifications for their process.

  • Participate in development of intellectual property.

  • Development of the equipment necessary to exploit the understanding gained in research in collaboration with equipment suppliers.

  • Work effectively with the equipment supplier to identify shortcomings propose and evaluate hardware modification to mitigate issues.

  • Operate manufacturing line in order to integrate the many individual steps necessary for the manufacture of complex microprocessors.

  • Where applicable, in situ ramp to manufacturing volumes to demonstrate the technology meets requirements while simultaneously transferring the technology to counterparts in manufacturing via the Copy Exactly Methodology.

  • Where applicable, install and qualify manufacturing capacity at the development site and audit installation qualification and supervise first full loop at the production site.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidate must possess one of the following:

  • PhD degree in an Engineering and/or Science discipline such as Electrical Engineering , Applied Physics, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, with significant demonstrated experimental hands-on experience AND 4+ years of experience in a tool ownership position in a semiconductor manufacturing fab.

  • Master's degree in an Engineering and/or Science discipline such as Electrical Engineering , Applied Physics, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, with significant demonstrated experimental hands-on experience AND 7+ years of experience in a tool ownership position in a semiconductor manufacturing fab.

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering and/or Science discipline such as Electrical Engineering , Applied Physics, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, with significant demonstrated experimental hands-on experience AND 8+ years of experience in a tool ownership position in a semiconductor manufacturing fab.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in semiconductor microscopy, defect detection or testing.

  • 3+ years of experience in electron optics and imaging, digital signal processing, and image processing.

  • 3+ years of experience working with external semiconductor equipment suppliers.

  • 3+ years of experience in maintaining and developing semiconductor equipment. This includes but is not limited to experience developing capabilities and use cases plus driving uptime, matching and interrupt reduction.

  • 1+ years of experience working with international equipment suppliers.

  • 1+ years of experience of Statistical Process Control or Design of Experiments principles.

  • 1+ years of experience of Design and Application of Ebeam specific inspection methods and techniques.

  • 1+ years of experience with industry standard design database file formats and tools.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
