Job Summary:
Missiles and Defense is Hiring a Mgr III Technical Planner

Missiles and Defense is seeking a program management/planning professional to join the Program Planning Department within Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD).

The Mgr III Technical Planner position will be a member of the Program Management Excellence Program Planning organization, supporting all RMD programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for support to the RMD Planning organization in the primary areas of support to management of planning process, tools, planner development, and organization communication. This is a manager role, and will supervise a small team. This position can be located in Tewksbury, MA or done remotely. Periodic travel to Tewksbury may be required if working remote


Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Assisting in the harmonization of planning policy
  • Process and tools for RMD, planning process documentation updates and deployment
  • Assist IMS and independent audits and lead projects to address systemic areas for improvement related to audit findings
  • Develop proposal estimating methodology and approach for RMD planning estimates
  • Organization communications and enhance planning knowledge sharing across the company (ex: evaluating for best practices from the legacy businesses and ensuring availability, organizing Community of Practice sessions, cataloguing resources for availability and reuse)
  • Support establishment of metrics and cadence to evaluate planning and startup performance and improvement areas
  • Establish mechanism and administer COTS planning tools and licenses inventory and closed are support, management of planner certification and training course deployment, instruction of planning courses
  • Support to the RMD planning managers in staffing and recruiting talent
  • Responsibility for leading special focus projects in the areas of their responsibility, collaborating with other planning and business partners
  • Support the RMD process leads as needed in review and administration of planning and EV process questions
  • Provide appropriate technical consulting, interfacing, analysis and training for control account managers, ITP leads, PMs and program personnel on IMS and all technical data associated with the IMS
  • Contribute to development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, and training relating to IMS creation, maintenance, and management consulting

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors Degree: Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or related field
  • 10+ years of professional experience in Program planning and Scheduling
  • Prior work experience with IMS and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) or similar business process
  • Prior experience multitasking and leading several project simultaneously
  • Experience in presenting to customers and senior leaders
  • Prior experience with BOE generation and / or cost estimating
  • Prior experience establishing processes and procedures, work instructions, training
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Value:
  • Demonstrated understanding of IPDS
  • Experience in conducting Schedule Risk Analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to balance technical/cost/schedule constraints to achieve customer satisfaction
  • Prior work experience with Risk and Opportunity Management
  • Experience in presenting to customers and senior leaders
  • Prior work experience using software designed for creating and maintaining industry related schedules. (MS Project, Primavera, Open Plan, or similar scheduling software)
  • Raytheon Six Sigma Specialist or similar certification
  • Prior work experience integrating IMSs to APEX, MPM, EVMS tools Familiar with Schedule RAACCE, AGILE/SCRUM, Pit Stop Planning
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Cost Estimating/BOE generation
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver customer focused solutions
