Come join Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) where we apply science and technology to make the world a safer place; now one of 2019 Best Places to Work by Glassdoor!

We have multiple openings for postdoctoral researchers to conduct basic and applied research. Advances in computational models of physical systems enable significant advances in our overall capabilities to address important problems. The work brings together computational mechanics of materials, high performance computing, and innovative connections to experimental methods. Capabilities are deployed both for focused studies and for treatment of complex coupled phenomena in more integrated applications. These positions are in the Computational Engineering Division (CED), within the Engineering Directorate.Essential Duties
- Conduct research in a relevant discipline within computational engineering including the development of mathematical and computational models of engineered materials, devices, systems, or processes.
- Work with experimentalists on designing, implementing, and analyzing relevant experiments.
- Organize, analyze, and present data from research.
- Contribute to and actively participate in the conception, design, and execution of research to address defined problems.
