Position Overview:
The selected candidate will play a key role in the Metrology department as a Metrology Planner. This position will work with multiple organizations and roles to manage and forecast procurement deliveries, hurdles, and material receipts for calibration and maintenance of Measuring and Test Equipment (M&TE) and capital purchases.
Individual will be expected to be a focal point in the Metrology organization, prioritizing, and scheduling of tasks associated with hardware procurement in conjunction with IPT Leads, REAs, internal or external manufacturing facilities. In addition, individual will keep other elements within Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Property, and Program Management informed of progress. At RMD in Tucson, AZ.
U.S Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment

  • Monitor and expedite the Supply Chain activities associated with out to vendor calibration, repair, and maintenance of M&TE.
  • Generate and monitor the progression of multiple requisitions through the procurement cycle, facilitating resolution of procurement issues, and ensuring items are delivered to meet customers schedules.
  • Resolve procurement issues, be in constant contact with the supply base, ensure quality, cost, and schedule requirements are met, identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities and report this information to multiple requesting organizations.
  • Participate in the procurement, management, and disposition of equipment and material required for Metrology activities utilizing various tools including SAP, PRISM, VIPERS, and UPS software.
  • Planning and Forecasting
  • Act as a liaison between Metrology and Supply Chain
  • Support day to day activities and provide assistance as required
  • Input and extract data from SAP/PRISM database
  • Monitor the evolution of the teams key performance indicators and maintain strategic direction for process management
  • Monitor performance in order to pledge timely job completion for customers, maintain high productivity levels and ensure future sustainability levels
  • Champion continuous process improvements that reduce cycle times and costs associated vendor calibration, repair and maintenance of MT&E
  • Articulate business goals, company policies, terms and conditions as well as opportunities and risks

  • Required Skills:
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field; Ten (10) years of experience in a preventative maintenance or manufacturing environment can be considered in lieu of degree completion
  • Two (2) years of experience with one of the following: Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics Planning or Reliability Engineering
  • U.S. Citizenship required

    Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience working with teams/projects cross-functionally at all levels, customers and technicians alike
  • Experience utilizing maintenance scheduling software
  • Experience with Reliability Engineering and Predictive Maintenance
  • Experience with requirements associated with Property Management of Government owned property
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, Project) applications
  • Proven capability and strong desire to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
  • SAP/PRISM knowledge and proficiency
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles
  • Six Sigma training and/or experience
  • Active DOD Secret Clearance
