- Direct research to design and test beyond state-of-the-art analog and digital circuits;
- Select, design, and specify digital circuit components, assemblies and parameters to create a solution to meet performance requirements by analyzing requirements, making engineering trade-offs, and investigating technical solutions;
- Utilize advanced control techniques for precision analog control systems including assemblies, boards, FPGAs, ASICs, and mixed analog/digital;
- Review integrated circuit designs, hardware at the component, board, or cabinet level, and associated test data;
- Create and maintain up-to-date documentation on hardware components and systems;
- Apply principles and methods used for test planning, evaluation, verification, and validation of systems or system elements;
- Research, understand, and conduct studies on the linkages between device performance (transistors, resistors, capacitors, wiring) and analog circuit performance, as well as fundamentals of circuit and functional block layout;
- Conduct trade studies for system requirements definition;
- Collaborate in a research environment where design requirements are fluid and trade studies over a wide range of parameters and technologies are conducted.
