Our SBIRS team in Aurora, Colorado is seeking a Network and Communication Systems Engineer to support to a 24/7 operations center. This is a Monday through Friday day shift with the responsibility to occasionally provide afterhours phone/onsite support as assigned by the team lead. This multi-faceted position will assist with the design, implementation and maintenance of a multitude of systems. You will be analyzing telecommunication systems/network performance, identify faults, and take corrective actions to restore/investigate outages of service. You will also assist with day to day COMSEC (communications security) operations to include key loading documentation and user training. Position will also interface with a variety of customers, vendors, peers, and service providers

Basic Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or closely
related field with 2 years of experience. Related
technical experience may be considered in lieu of a
degree
•Current TS/SCI clearance
•Willing to travel between Boulder, Aurora, and
Colorado Springs, Colorado
•Ability to work with little or no supervision and learn
legacy or new systems quickly
•Understanding of routing protocols
•Familiarity with various networks and firewalls
•Experience with operating monitoring/analysis tools
and test equipment

Desired skills
•Cisco and/or Juniper certifications such as CCNA,
JNCIA
•Experience with OSPF and
BGP routing protocols
•Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, and Sidewinder/McAfee networks and firewalls
•Experience with Fireberd, Fluke OptiView, HP
Openview., WhatsUp Gold, Protocol Analyzer,
Oscilloscope analysis tools
•Knowledge in DISA, Commercial, AFCSN Comm
systems and topology
•Familiarity with fabrication and testing of copper and
fiber optic cablings
•General understanding and working experience
within a defense industry COMSEC program
•Understanding of various encryption devices, e.g
KIV-7, KG-175, KG-250, etc, including device
substitution, key and re-keying
•Experience working as a COMSEC Responsible
Officer or with COMSEC documentation, operating
instructions and job aides
•Basic system Administration skills/certifications a
plus (UNIX, Linux, Windows)
•Knowledge of technical control operating records
such as circuit history folders, master station logs,
trouble tickets, outage and restoration records
•Circuit restoration, fault isolation, quality control
testing, trend analysis, performance monitoring, and
status reporting experience
•Experience using design, drawing, and engineering
software (ie AutoCAD, MS Visio, etc)
•Strong interpersonal/leadership skills and
experience
•Good attitude and courteous demeanor
•Strong verbal and written communications skills
•Ability to mentor and train coworkers
•CompTIA Security+ certified or the ability to obtain
within 90 days of assignment
