Network Engineer

ADP is searching for a Network Engineer to join its team. This position is REMOTE. The ideal candidate for this position must be experienced with firewalls, routers, switches, IP tables, VPN, cloud infrastructure and have a background in meeting security compliance such as HIPAA, HiTrust, ISO, and PCI. We encourage responsible creativity along with a personal commitment to our customers. Lead the delivery of innovative network solutions and tools from concept to operations with a focus on new technologies, particularly public and private cloud-based solutions, SDN, and automation.

  • Support adoption of new technologies and tools, recommend capability improvements, and assist in lab/QA deployments for technology trials
  • Participate in all facets of requirements gathering, prioritization, design, development, testing and execution (Proof of Concept) of network engineering and security requests
  • Work closely with senior IT and business leaders to align IT activities with business strategy & objectives
  • Build strong cross-organizational relationships; effectively work with staff across the IT organization and the broader enterprise to align the network security technologies with overall organization needs
  • Liaise with vendors and service providers to identify and select the products or services that best support the organization's global network strategies
  • Provide network performance and capacity guidance by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
  • Identify emerging network security solutions and in coordination with Global Security, evaluate products
  • Regularly communicate the status of network initiatives to IT leadership and internal business partners
  • Be a mentor to other team members and lead through example by influencing the use of standards defined by the team and technical leadership

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of Network experience in Architecture, Design and Engineering
  • Experience in recommending, designing, implementing, maintaining, state of the art network hardware and software systems
  • Network & Infrastructure experience specific to Enterprise organizations (15,000 employees minimum)
  • Experience with virtual network environments, datacenter and WAN networking technologies, and network technologies from providers including Zscaler, Palo Alto, Symantec (Blue Coat), Arista, NetScout, Fortinet. Cisco & HPE
  • Ability to be flexible, decision oriented, and motivated to support management initiatives
  • Demonstrate a consultative approach to strategic decisions with a particular emphasis on design and delivery
  • Hands-on experience in designing and deploying large scale network transport technologies
  • Prior experience in multi-vendor networking technologies
  • Must be proficient in network architecture and design, network security, and network monitoring
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Strong foundation in dynamic routing protocols (i.e OSPF, BGP, MP-BGP, VxLAN, EVPN)
  • Experience working with highly effective engineering teams through major technology transitions
  • Experience working in complex network environments with legacy systems

  • Experience in administration and policy building with CA API Gateway nodes across multiple environment tiers including development, staging/QA, and production.
  • Ability to implement OAuth1.1 and OAuth 2.0 security protocols for APIs. Experience in Client Credential Grant, Authorization Code Grant, Resource Owner Password Grant and Implicit Grant types of OAuth 2.0 are especially important.
  • Experience in enabling common processes around API Management Program including setting minimum security model for API externalization, building API onboarding workflows, approval process, system testing and performance testing plans.
  • Experience defining and documenting best practices in API Management and API Gateways. The candidate must be able to contribute to design discussions and solution design sessions with other business and technical teams.
  • Experience with the API Gateway Upgrade process for CA API Gateway. Platform Patching, Application patch and Database upgrade experience are a must.
  • Experience with the automatic provision of API Gateways using Chef Script and Docker Scripts. The candidate must have experience with building the scripts and processes for migration of Gateway Policies from one environment to other.
  • Experience with building Custom Assertions using the CA API Gateway Custom Assertion SDK.
  • Understanding of Digital Certificates including but not limited to OpenSSL and Keytool commands for certificate creation, format conversion, export and import of certificates to the key stores, encoding and decoding of files, message level encryption as well Mutual Authentication.
  • Experience leveraging API Security against SQL injection attacks, DOS Attacks and XML structure attacks.
  • Troubleshooting experience using Network Packet Captures (Wireshark). Fundamental working knowledge of UNIX commands and networking commands is essential.
  • Experience building dummy APIs for testing purposes in SOAP and REST types. Strong working knowledge of XML, XML Schemas, XSLT, XPath, SOAP, REST, JSON, WADL and WSDL is essential.
  • Network architecture awareness and understanding including: Routers, Firewall, Web Proxy, Gateways. Understanding of IP Tables, network routes, NTP, DNS is a must.
  • Experience incorporating API Management into the broader context of the client’s Identity & Access Management strategy. This requires a fundamental understanding of common IAM concepts including single sign-on, federation, and identity correlation.
  • Experience in Administration and management of BigIP F5 LTM Load balancers.
  • Experience in HAPRoxy Open Source
