The Ethernet Products
Group (EPG) is looking for an experienced Hardware Engineer to work
closely in a customer enablement and support role with Intel
customers and System On a Chip (SOC) partner organizations. In this
role the successful candidate will be accountable for providing
world class design enablement and customer issue support to EPG
customers for integrated wired ethernet in a wide variety of
enterprise, cloud, and datacenter environments. We are looking for
someone with excellent interpersonal skills who can understand,
explain, and solve problems collaboratively with customers and
internal SOC partner groups. This position requires networking and
ethernet knowledge as well as hardware, PCB, SOC, high speed link
design, debug, and support experience.
This is a
highly dynamic and changing role that matches the customer solution
needs. The successful candidate must be self-motivated and able to
work in fluid business environment with minimal supervision. The
business scenarios may include tight schedules and highly demanding
customers. The work will focus primarily on creation and debug of
LAN Enablement Kits (LEKs) and may also include automation
efforts.
Qualifications
Candidates
must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially
considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in
addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus
factor in identifying top candidates. Requirements listed below
would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job
experience, internship experiences and or
schoolwork/classes/research.
Minimum Required
Education
- Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science Systems Engineering or in related field with 2 years of relevant industry experience
Minimum
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience with reproduction and debug lab tools (such as: highspeed oscilloscope and bus analyzers)
- 2+ years of experience in design, debug, or validation of one or more of the following: IEEE802.3 standard, TCP/IP, PCISIG Spec, DMTF spec, 10/25/40/50/100G Ethernet, MAC-PHY architecture
- 1+ years of experience in Ethernet link management with emphasis on PHY configuration and troubleshooting involving Bit Error Rate (BER) and link quality.
- 1+ years of experience with automation scripting with tools such as Python, PERL or similar.
Preferred
Qualifications
- Experience in Design of highspeed networking protocols such as PCIe, XAUI, SERDES, KX, KR, SFI
- Familiarity with how to setup and use a PCIE analyzer and/or Lauterbach debug probe
- Familiarity with customer reference boards CRBs
- Experience with Cadence EDA tools
- Experience in Signal integrity
- Experience in HSPICE simulation and ESD, EMI, and EMC etc
- Basic understanding of BIOS Linux kernel driver and/or Windows driver shell script
- Basic understanding of FPGA development
- Analytical skills including past experience in printed circuit board design and review and/or SOC design and post-si electrical validation and debug
