highly qualified candidates to join our Data Platforms Group (DPG)
as a Software Application Engineer.
Within DPG,
the Ethernet Products Group EPG FNIC Business Group is looking for
an experienced software engineer who wants to work closely with
Intel customers and SOC partner organizations. This is a highly
technical engineering support role in which you will be accountable
for providing world class design enablement and customer issue
support to EPG customers in cloud communications, wireless, and
base station markets. We are looking for someone with excellent
interpersonal skills who can understand, explain, and solve
problems collaboratively with customers and internal SOC partner
groups. This position requires networking software and ethernet
knowledge as well as SOC architectural elements, high speed links
design, SW debug and customer support
experience.
Responsibilities
will include, but are not limited to:
- Triage, reproduce, and debug root cause and deliver solutions for customer issues at the platform level related to or directly resulting from EPG product and IP on Intel Xeon-Atom based SOCs
- Communicating with SOC partners and customers to articulate issue status, next steps, and engagement needed
- Working in the lab to debug SW/FW issues, instrument platform for debug access, update change FW-NVM-SW ingredients as part of debug steps
- Contributing to SW/FW design guides, application notes, datasheets, and other supporting technical collateral
- Advocating key customers customization request to backend teams through internal process
The
Data Platforms Group drives new products technologies from high-end
co-processors for supercomputers to low-energy systems for
enterprise and the cloud, as well as solutions for big data and
intelligent devices. The group is a worldwide organization that
develops the products and technologies that power 9 of every 10
servers sold
worldwide.
Qualifications
Candidates
must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially
considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in
addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus
factor in identifying top candidates. Requirements listed below
would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job
experience, internship experiences and or
schoolwork/classes/research.
Minimum Required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field of study and 4+ years of industry work experience
- A minimum
of 3+ years of experience in the
following:
- Issue reproduction and debug lab tools such in-circuit emulators, traffic sniffers and bus analyzers
- Ethernet drivers and switch architecture knowledge
- Test automation tools and scripting languages (csh, phyton, VB)
- IEEE8023 standard, TCP-IP, PCI-SIG Spec, DMTF spec, 10-25-40-50-100G Ethernet MAC-PHY architecture knowledge
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Post Graduate degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field of study is preferred
- Design of systems with highspeed interfaces as PCIe, XAUI, SERDES, KX, KR, SFI
- Windows and Linus driver stack debug experience
- Basic understanding of BIOS Linux, kernel driver Windows, driver shell script
- SW driver or FW development, validation and debug skills
