Job Description

F11X Manufacturing Engineers with a Capacity/Tactical Industrial Engineering focus provide planning and operational support to the factory to ensure capacity is in place to enable the ramp, systems and processes exist to track and enable the factory/technology to hit affordability targets, and plans for tool and layout are defined to meet and sustain the output/performance commitments of the factory across multiple technologies.

As a Manufacturing Engineer in this role, you will be responsible for a breadth of scope including development and implementation of capacity analysis techniques to ensure successful technology development, start-up and ramp of multiple technologies, limiter assessment for critical toolsets, capacity updates at the module level to account for any process changes, and continuous improvement identification and support.

This role will require the development of complex capacity and optimization models to forecast requirements and predict output and cycle time constraints as well as identify opportunities for product sensitive toolsets.

The successful candidate will need to develop models and provide the factory with decision support systems that can be interpreted and acted upon across the F11X organization to improve asset utilization and forecasting to hit factory commitments.

Additionally, this position will require strong understanding of IE tools and applications as well as Factory Physics. Partnership with Process Engineering, Production, Automation and IE peers, as well as collaboration with larger corporate groups and efforts to develop creative solutions leveraging operations research, machine learning and simulation tools and techniques will be required.

The primary responsibilities of this position will include:

  • Development and validation of models and factory decision support systems to analyze and recommend capacity plans and responses to the complexities of running multiple technologies and products on an equipment platform.

  • Development and implementation of operational decision support systems to drive output and productivity

  • Strategic and tactical modeling to navigate the challenges of planning across the different time horizons.

  • Collaborating with factory engineering groups to remove factory output roadblocks by developing tools and reports that highlight deficiencies and/or areas of opportunity.

  • Data analysis and development of key metrics to drive and improve overall module and factory performance to achieve factory commitments

  • Analysis of cycle time, cost, and tool performance vs. goal to develop recommendations and drive improvement roadmaps

  • Developing solutions to unique, complex, and challenging problems

  • Simulation experience desired.

  • Strong capabilities and knowledge in manufacturing science, data analysis, and project management.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have a PHD degree with 1+ years of experience or a MS degree with 3+ years of experience or a BS degree with 5+ years of experience in an engineering discipline such as Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering or Operations Research or related field.

  • Minimum of 1 year experience with VBA coding or pivot tables.

  • Minimum of 1 year experience with optimization techniques such as linear programming.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of SQL experience including T-SQL expertise.

  • 1+ years of demonstrated advanced Excel skills.

  • 1+ years of experience with R and/or Python, data science and machine learning.

  • 1+ years of experience with data visualization, analytics, modeling and statistics.

  • 1+ years of experience/knowledge in operations research including theory of constraints, supply chain management, queuing theory, and factory physics.
