Job Description

This position is for a Manufacturing Staff Engineer in OTF working Shift 1. This role requires a high degree of influence within the organization.

  • The Staff Engineer needs to be able to set clear direction/expectations, lead varying levels of team members across multiple departments.
  • Driving a commitment to Safety, Quality and setting Output goals in order to meet or exceed customer commitments.
  • A broad understanding of Safety, Yield, Defect and Output as well as in depth knowledge of the 22nm/14nm/10nm process flows will be keys to success in this role.
  • An ability to develop solid working relationship with the compressed work week team (Shift Production Manager, Remote Operations Center) and the Shift 1 Team (Department Managers, Production Managers, Manufacturing Engineers, etc.) is essential in maintaining consistency and standardization in factory operations.
  • Effectively partner and lead task forces and/or projects with the Manufacturing Team, Area Group Leaders, Area Managers and Factory Managers.
  • Extensive understanding of the manufacturing automation systems and the manufacturing business processes and how these systems/processes integrate to meet the business objectives of the fab.
  • Need to be able to take a vast amount of information and condense it to a clear crisp message of factory priorities.
  • Deal with ambiguous situations and tackle new and complex issues.
  • Provide direction and implement lean manufacturing, MBPS, or other continuous improvement solutions to resolve the range of issues that impact factory performance and enable the factory to achieve its overall performance goals.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Qualifications listed as preferred or additional will be considered a plus factor for applicants.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline and/or have demonstrated increasing levels of technical management responsibilities.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing and operations experience
  • 3+ years of people management experience with strong results through people.
  • 1+ years' experience with inventory management.
  • 1+ years' experience in Model Based Problem Solving knowledge.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline and/or have demonstrated increasing levels of technical management responsibilities.
  • Experience with manufacturing operation systems and inventory management fundamentals.
  • Experience with Intelligent Manufacturing Systems.
  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organization from Factory Manager to the manufacturing technician in order to drive factory performance and optimize factory metrics.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
