The Open Source Program Office and the OSPDT are Intel's primary open source compliance subject matter experts. Our expertise is in demand across the company we engage with every Intel BU on open source policy and process, reviewing many hundreds of projects each year and providing consultative advice on a variety of matters to ensure legal compliance and community acceptance for Intel code. As an Open Source Software Program Manager, you will play a vital role in helping all of Intel improve its open source compliance practices.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Attending multiple weekly open source approval board meetings
- Performing offline OSPDT project reviews and approvals
- Delivering open source training
- Policy and process evangelism
- Conducting post-release audits of Intel software to ensure we are fulfilling all open source software license obligations and role modeling community best practices
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your degree, research and or relevant previous job and or internship experiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors with 4 or more years or Masters with 3 or more years of relevant industry experience.
3+ years relevant industry experience
- Fluency with dozen or so most commonly used open source/free software licenses and their conditions/obligations; familiarity with others
- Deep understanding of history, goals, and principles of free/open source software
- Working knowledge of intellectual property: patents, copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets; deeper knowledge strongly preferred
- Technical domain knowledge in at least one open source ecosystem (e.g., Java, docker, kernel, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of at least one programming language and familiarity with others
- Able to quickly identify license compatibility issues

Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate complex concepts to audiences with varying levels of knowledge
- Strong program management skills and results orientation
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience
- Familiarity with software development and release processes (both open source and proprietary)
- Fluency with Intel software release policies and tools (SWLC, SDL, export control, TM and B, etc.)

$97,230.00-$160,990.00

This role is available as fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
