What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking an Engineering & Operations Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team and help address some of the most complicated issues facing our nation’s security. The selected candidate will focus on the operational application of systems engineering, performing functions such as developing, maintaining, and using commercial-off-the-shelf (e.g.: Confluence) tools to conduct requirement and risk management, verification and validation, logistics and deployment activities as well as ensuring appropriate documentation is created and maintained over the full supply chain lifecycle.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Support the tracking of Engineering Services Program development within Environmental Testing, Testing Assembly and Calibration to ensure all areas are moving according to schedule and within an integrated service delivery framework.

+ Work issues personally or flags areas where additional expertise or program leadership is needed.

+ Employ a structured engineering approach that models the interactions between each program element and leads integration and collaboration.

+ Document and track project risks and collaborate with stakeholders to develop mitigation and contingency plans.

+ Evaluate competing characteristics between program system elements and determine the most effective, integrated system solution.

+ Ensure that all requirements are addressed, verifies that the program capability satisfies requirements, and collects evidentiary packages to document completion.

+ Lead efforts to identify and implement both technical and operational laboratory program improvements.

+ Implement work planning and control processes to assure safe, secure, and high-quality operations.

+ Develop logistic and deployment plans and prepare required training resources.

Qualifications We Require:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chains/Logistics, or other relevant field plus five or more years of experience, or equivalent experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.

+ Experience leading projects to meet customer requirements.

+ Ability to travel as necessary.

+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire:

+ Solid understanding of the customers, the concept of operations for the system, and the mission capabilities and characteristics of the system.

+ Ability to work closely with customers and suppliers to define expectations and mutual responsibilities.

+ Ability to review and understand end-to-end work processes.

+ Experience in program Design, Testing, and Engineering.

+ Proficient with SharePoint, Confluence and Excel.

+ Lean Six Sigma belt accreditation.

+ Outstanding communication skills and an ability to interact well with multi-disciplinary teams with diverse technical backgrounds.

+ Active DOE/DoD clearance.

Organization 8525, Engineering Services Program & Operations leads many key capabilities for the Sandia National Laboratory primary Nuclear Deterrence mission. This department is responsible for Hardware Management & Assembly Operations, Environmental Testing Capabilities, and Calibration Operations & Logistics. Security Clearance:
