Job Description

Assembly and Test Technology Development (ATTD) Microelectronic Package Inspection Engineers focus on delivering metrological and visual inspection capability and systems that enable the thermal/mechanical/electrical design, analysis, and development of electronic packages.

  • Provides consultation concerning packaging problems and improvements in the packaging process via inspection data and materials/process knowledge.
  • Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur.
  • Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment.

Additionally, Package Inspection Engineers are responsible for ensuring that out-going product meets the visual-mechanical expectations of customers through defect-anomaly detection.

This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum qualifications and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork and/or classes and/or research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Possess a bachelor's degree with 3+ months of experience or master's degree with 6+ months of experience in Engineering or Physics or Computer Science or related field or PhD degree with 1+ years of experience in Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science or related field


Preferred Qualifications


3+ months of experience (bachelor's) or 6+ months of experience (master's) degree or 1+ years of experience (PhD) in one or more of the following:

  • Semiconductor Inspection (wafer, package, etc.).
  • Fundamental physical processes, troubleshoot complex ultra-high precision equipment across a variety of disciplines including optical, laser, motion or electrical systems.
  • Statistical principles, process control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Fundamental scientific and engineering principles to develop novel design solutions for high volume manufacturing processes.
  • Semiconductor devices and packing technology.
  • Data science and statistics tools (Python is highly preferred).
  • Data management and visualization experience.
  • Dimensional management for package features and planes.
  • Optics fundamentals as applied to imaging techniques (light sources, resolutions, algorithm applications), light-matter interaction.
  • Machine Vision techniques, OpenCV experience and CNN Image Classification.
