Job Description

The Substrate Packaging Technology Development (SPTD) Metallization and Etch group is partnering with the mechanical and process development core competency team to address the fundamental process development challenges for plasma characterization as it applies to advanced packaging.

 

This team will leverage both experimental and numerical methods to drive our direction for plasma processing of substrates using a combination of simulations and experiments. The team frequently leverages advanced analysis methods (statistical, AI/ML) to supplement modeling and experimental approaches.

The ideal candidate should exhibit the following:

  • Solid experimental and numerical methods capability to solve practical engineering problems.

  • Experience characterizing plasmas through simulations and hands on experiments.

  • Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated willingness to work seamlessly between experiments and simulations

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in a relevant science or engineering field (Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or related Engineering field).

  • Programming skills in tools like Matlab, Python OR commercial Mechanical and/or CFD modeling tools like Comsol, Fluent, Ansys or similar.

  • Experience with plasma physics or plasma chemistry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with designing, planning and executing experiments, along with interpretation of results.

  • Programming/script development with artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts.

Work Model for this Role

This role is available as fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
