Microelectronic Packaging Research Engineers in Assembly and Test Technology Development (ATTD) will be working in Assembly Module Pathfinding Lab to:
Working independently in R and D lab setting to drive innovation for Second Level Interconnect (SLI) solutions to enable Intel's roadmap of future packaging platform technologies.
Partner with both internal and external experts to drive disruptive SLI assembly processes to enable extension of Moore's Law in packaging.
Conduct research and fundamental studies on novel processes, equipment, materials, and fabrication techniques to improve semiconductor packaging technologies.
Learn and skillfully navigate Intel's New Equipment selection processes to identify and bring new capabilities in-house in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavior traits:
Informed technical risk-taking, ability to partner and influence decisions with research and data, strategic planning, and fundamental understanding of key technical challenges.
Must possess a tolerance for ambiguity and flexibility working in a fast-paced, constantly changing product roadmap environment.
Strong ability to conduct comprehensive industry research and work in partnership with both Universities and Equipment manufacturing companies to run experiments and collect data on innovative approaches to SLI fabrication.
Fluent technical writing skills to document key inventions for US Patent Filing and Intellectual Property protection.

schoolwork and/or classes and/or research and/or relevant previous
job and/or internship experiences.
Minimum
Qualifications
Possess a PhD degree with 1+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science or Physics/Applied Physics or related field
Have 1 or more publications in a peer-reviewed technical journal
Candidate
must possess the degree by employment start date
Preferred Qualifications
+1
years of experience with one or more of the
following:
Semiconductor fabrication processes and technology
Mechanical design is a plus

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
