The Xeon performance architecture team is looking for a Performance Architect to join their team. The team is responsible for architectural exploration, evaluation of design alternatives, performance projections, power vs. performance trade-offs, and performance validation support for data center products. This job involves developing and using state of the art modeling, simulation, and projection technology to deliver Xeon CPU products with industry leading performance and power attributes.
The ideal candidate will need to have a strong background in computer architecture, micro-architecture, performance analysis, and software engineering. A background in one or more of the following areas is also strongly desired: CPU and system-on-chip (SoC) architecture, cache hierarchies, integrated logic blocks, accelerators, on- and off-die coherent interconnects, memory, I/O, and core architecture.

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of schoolwork, classes, research, and/or relevant previous job(s).
A Bachelors degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, Masters degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or a PhD degree. A degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related degree with a demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements.
Your experience should be in the following areas:
Computer architecture and/or microarchitecture
Performance modeling
Software engineering
Preferred qualifications that will make you stand out:
Experience in one or more of the following areas: accelerators, on- and off-die coherent interconnects, memory, I/O, cache hierarchies
Research, publications, and/or patents related to computer architecture
Experience with performance use cases, workloads, and/or benchmarks
Hands-on experience with hardware, esp. server platforms and/or server workloads
Internal and external customer engagements
Hardware and software debug skills
Software engineering practices (test driven development, code coverage, JIRA task management)
