This position is in the Network Platforms Group within the Network and Edge Group.  As a member of the System Architecture and Engineering Group you will be contributing to next generation Xeon products that power all aspects of wired and wireless networks.

 

As a Performance Validation and Si Characterization Engineer your responsibilities will include but may not be limited to:

  • Conduct network workload performance and power validation and analysis covering SoC products.
  • Run benchmarks to ensure product is meeting performance targets.
  • Help drive Si characterization which involves sensitivity analysis of new and existing architectural features.
  • Help business units mature new benchmarks, and provide critical customer support on performance and power management issues etc.
  • Contribute to the resource management tasks.



*This position will require working on-site in the lab in Chandler, Arizona.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum education requirements and minimum required qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Additional preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or related field and 3+ years industry experience OR masters degree in related field and 2 + years of experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in performance and power analysis tools such as Intel VTune, Linux perf.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience on DPDK, VPP, Packet traffic generator.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience on Linux OS, C or C++, python programming language.
  • Experience in performance debugging and analysis with x86 architecture.
  • Experience with Linux (Kernel and user space).
  • Experience working with server system architecture.
  • Experience working with Xeon microarchitecture.
  • Experience with PCIe architecture and Virtualization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with server system architecture.
  • 2+ years experience working with Xeon microarchitecture.
  • 2+ years experience working with PCIe architecture and virtualization.
  • 2+ years experience with Linux (Kernel and user space).
  • 4+ years of experience in performance and power analysis tools like Intel VTune, Linux perf.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience on DPDK, VPP, Packet traffic generator.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience on Linux OS, C or C++, python programming language.
  • Experience in performance debugging and analysis on Intel Architecture.
  • Experience with computer networking fundamentals, network workloads, and network protocols.
  • Experience building a complete system from commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components (motherboard, processor, DRAM, HDD/SSD, etc.)
