The Intel Programmable Solutions Group (PSG) seeks a senior technical Platform Architect in the Strategic Product Planning team for planning Intel's FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Array) to meet workload specific platform requirements such as an Infrastructure Processor Unit (IPU) to support Infrastructure/SmartNIC Acceleration in Data Center and Communications.
Intel PSG is experiencing unprecedented growth with innovation of new applications and features for both traditional and new partners, industries, and markets. Having a holistic Solutions view, comprising silicon, boards, tools, software, and IP, on planning is a critical requirement for strategizing and pacing with market opportunities. The person in this role will be an integral contributor to the growth and scale of PSG.
The
Platform Architect focuses on researching,
recommending, specifying, and documenting technology requirements
for platforms in support of the organization's strategic vision.
This position is responsible for translating business/customer
requirements into product and architecture requirements
encompassing hardware, software, SoCs, and other components
designed to support a variety of systems, solutions, and
applications. They will define and analyze overall platform
architecture and partitioning between hardware and software to meet
use cases and workloads in terms of performance, scalability,
manageability, reliability, and security requirements. They will
provide technical direction and influence the shaping of future
products/solutions, and provide multi-layered technical expertise
for next-generation
initiatives.
This role
is a critical, senior-level role within PSG's Product Planning
organization. This role affords you a great opportunity to make a
disruptive and positive impact on PSG's near and long-term business
goals. You will take on challenging and often ambiguous problems,
applying sound business and technical judgment in defining
solutions and effectively communicating complex issues to audiences
that may include senior executives, Marketing, Engineering, Sales,
and
Customers.
As
a Platform Architect, you will be responsible
for driving the requirements from vertical markets into
specifications across the breadth of PSG products. This will
involve synthesizing and analyzing requirements from various
sources including but not limited to PSG's strategy and marketing
teams, Intel business divisions and other Intel business units,
customers etc. and ensuring that all the components that constitute
a solution are
defined.
In addition,
to the direct responsibilities for IPU platform planning, we are
looking for a technical leader who will investigate next generation
product research and development efforts in support workloads
focused on AI, Acceleration, NFVi+VNF, and 5G/VRAN. The Platform
Architect will work with key planning leaders to explore and
recommend how these innovations can intercept future products and
provide opportunities for FPGA market growth.
Desired Competencies and Key Responsibilities:
Technical depth and understanding of Infrastructure Acceleration / SmartNIC technologies for Networking, Storage, and Security workloads in Cloud/Data Center, and Communications segments.
Knowledge in one or several FPGA growth areas such as AI, Acceleration, NFVi+VNF, 5G/VRAN, and Media/Display workload and segments.
Business acumen - understands business and technical challenges and landscape, strong technical acumen with background in vertical markets and FPGA solutions.
Leadership - influences, defines, and drives decisions in a proactive, assertive manner, and can articulate ideas and concepts in a compelling and targeted manner to promote change.
Presence and Communications - can create and facilitate engagement and dialogue and open communication in stressful situations, can communicate goals and plans to e-staff and critical project stakeholders.
Self-starter - Comfortable driving unchartered, high paced programs with limited oversight.
Keep the big picture in focus, while managing highly complex organizational systems running multi-disciplinary programs with potentially conflicting interests towards a common goal.
Highly analytical - Data driven and possess strong problem-solving skills, can structure complicated issues and find creative solutions to business challenges.
Strong interpersonal skills - can bring difficult discussions to the table and arbitrate different viewpoints effectively, not afraid to speak up to ensure success of program and call out dysfunctionalities.
Qualifications
Relevant experience can be obtained through schoolwork, classes, project work, internships, and/or military experience. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Education
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of relevant experience, experience should include FPGA applications or related experience in Data Center, Networking, Storage, and/or Acceleration.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in one or more of the following is considered a plus
Experience in a customer-facing and engagement role.
Experience in adjacent markets such as AI, Acceleration, NFVi+VNF, 5G/VRAN, and/or Media/Display.
Experience in Strategic Planning, Architecture, and/or Applications Engineering.

$148,930.00-$238,410.00
