The goal for a platform monitoring engineer is to ensure the hardware monitoring capabilities on Intel SOCs are of maximal use to software developers and system integrators. The daily work for this job involves exploring the behavior of new and existing monitoring capabilities on Intel SOC's.
Platform Monitoring Engineers work on a wide variety of tasks, have many opportunities for growth and specialization, and collaborate extensively with a community both internal and external to Intel.
The role may involve:

• Checkout of hardware monitoring events in pre-silicon and post-silicon

• Writing and updating small directed tests targeting x86 architecture to exercise specific system features (usually in ASM, C, or C++)

• Developing methodologies for using hardware monitoring events to characterize system performance

• Providing training and guidance to internal and external users of hardware monitoring events; including documentation in articles and the Intel Software Developers Manual

• Assisting tool developers in understanding how to access and configure hardware monitoring events

• Working with architects to understand existing hardware monitoring events and Influencing the direction of future hardware monitoring technologies

• Developing the software infrastructure, tests, tools, and prototypes needed to support the above tasks

• Strong collaboration, communication, and teamwork skills

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your degree/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors with 4+ years or Master's with 3+ years in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical engineering discipline

• 2+ years of experience with software/hardware performance analysis or optimization

• 1+ years of experience with debugging complex systems

• 1+ years with demonstrated in computer architecture/microarchitecture

Preferred Qualifications:

• Pre-silicon hardware modeling, validation, or design experience

• Desire to learn new skills and low-level microarchitectural details of SoC's

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado:
$113,500.00-$170,120.00
