The Center for Electro-Optics and Functionalized Surfaces (CEFS) is seeking one or more Post Doc positions.  The position(s) will be associated with a multidisciplinary research program where ultra-short pulsed lasers are used to functionalize metallic surfaces.  The person associated with this position(s) will be required to work with ultra-short pulse lasers, maintain several femtosecond laser systems, analyze surfaces created under various conditions, work with an ultra-high vacuum system where femtosecond laser processing is conducted, and utilize the attached X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), depth profiling, and Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) systems.  In addition, the applicant is expected to help with reports and the writing of new proposals.

Requirements

Applicants should have experience with ultra-fast lasers and the interaction of these lasers with matter. The applicant should be familiar with ultra-fast diagnostics and the analysis of surfaces using XPS and AES techniques. A PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field is required for the position.
