Power Delivery Circuits and Systems Research group in Intel Labs is looking for an experienced researcher to innovate and develop state of the art technologies and solutions in the area of high input voltage (e.g 48V) and high power density DC-DC Converters to directly power the SOCs. The candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary research team and perform research explorations of new circuit architectures, design these complex mixed signal circuits on advanced Silicon processes and PCBs, do simulations/analysis to assess circuit performance and ensure functionality, as well as coordinate layout towards Silicon tapeout. The candidate will also conduct post-Si testing and characterization in order to successfully demonstrate the technology on silicon/system prototype. The candidate will also be required to work closely with engineers in business units within Intel to transfer these technologies into revenue products and provide necessary documentation/training to enable a successful product integration.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research, and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.

Minimum Requirements:

  • The candidate must possess a PhD degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with background/experience in low power analog / digital mixed signal circuit design.
  • 2+ years of experience in Power Electronics, DC-DC voltage converters, power control design and analysis
  • 2+ years of experience in high voltage (48V preferred) DC-DC converter design.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing power delivery circuits in advanced silicon process taking from circuit to layout to silicon prototype.
  • Experience in power electronics for Automotive applications, such as Battery DC to AC Motor, or Grid AC to Battery is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Automotive battery charging technologies, designing with Wide Band Gap (WBG) devices is also highly desired.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
