Job Description

If you are passionate about computer graphics and working with leading graphics engineers on Intel's latest GPU/CPU architecture, then our Xe Silicon Engineering (XSE) Team, has opportunities for you. This team focuses on designing, validating and delivering all silicon that drives our Xe product roadmap and for improving the energy efficiency of our Xe GPUs. We strive to lead the industry through continuous innovation and world-class engineering. We are looking for a Pre-Silicon Validation Engineer, who is an expert in this area and possesses strong verbal and written communication skills to join our team.  In this position, you will be working as part of a SOC Pre-silicon Verification Team for current and next generation Graphics Products. 

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Working with Architecture and Design team to come up with a test plan covering details on test environments, checker and coverage strategies, and test generators
  • Developing and utilizing various debug and validation tools and/or methodologies to implement validation plans with the goal being to ensure a solid design
  • Validation of an IP or feature, either directly or at the system level
  • Creating plans and tests for validating portions of a complex microarchitecture using written specs, RTL code and other tests as a guide
  • Learning the architecture and microarchitecture by debugging failures to the root cause
  • Participating in the debug of failures on silicon and developing new testing strategies to detect these failures on RTL models
  • Engaging with IP providers and customers to define, develop and deliver necessary infrastructure and address issues found during execution
  • Developing tools and methods to streamline IP development and SOC integration to deliver highest quality in shortest time possible
  • Developing debugging tools and software
  • Communicating effectively, coordinating, and working with IP Design and SOC integration teams
  • Mentoring junior members of the team in their development


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred skills and experience are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field with 6+ years of relevant industry experience. Or a Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or directly related field with 4+ years of industry experience.

Your experience should be in the following:

  • Hands on IP/SoC development, verification, and/or integration using Verilog/SystemVerilog/OVM/UVM
  • Reading and interpreting technical specifications and Register Transfer Level (RTL) code
  • Experience with OVM/UVM test benches
  • Debugging RTL code using simulation tools

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Computer Architecture
  • Programming in UVM/C/C++ for modeling and stimulus generation
  • Performance and Formal Verification
  • Experience with PCIE/USB/MEMORY/ETHERNET have an advantage

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
